Venice Beach Photographer
For this session, I got to become a Venice Beach Photographer for the day! I am a wedding photographer located in Los Angeles, California, and I love exploring different places to photograph.
Photographing an engagement session at Venice Beach was something new for me, since I tend to photograph a lot in Pasadena & Orange County. However, this was such a FUN session, that I am really hoping more couples want their engagement photos taken in Venice Beach...so I have a reason to photograph there more!

I highly recommend looking through all of them and making your way to the last few! There are some that were taken right after sunset, where the sky was filled with pastel hues and THE MOON. Those are probably my favorite!
If you're thinking of having Venice Beach engagement photos taken, first of all, amazing choice! If you've ever wandered the streets of Venice Beach, California, you know that it's a really special place. There is no other place quite like it.
Filled with life at every turn, Venice Beach has a frenetic energy.
It is known for being the home of many artists. With it's free-spirited feel, funky shops, colorful murals, street performers, outdoor gyms, skate park, and array of food choices, it really does offer SO MUCH for one to explore.
For their engagement session, we started photographing near the Abbot Kinney Canals. This is known as the quieter side of Venice. It's super picturesque and showcases artistic looking homes surrounded by beautiful canals.
We then headed to the Venice Beach boardwalk and finally, we ended the session at the actual beach. As the sun was setting, we got to witness the most spectacular moon. It was the best of both worlds.
This engagement session was by far one of my favorites. I don't usually shoot at Venice Beach, so this location felt really refreshing and inspiring for me to shoot at.

Places to Take Photos At in Venice Beach
There are so many great places for your Venice Beach photographer to capture you both in this area! Here are a few of my personal favorites!
- The Venice Beach Canals
This location will leave you with colorful, artistic, and scenic photos. I think this area is a MUST for photos. It offers something unique. Also, the Venice Canals are a great area to get a lot of wide shots. You know, those super artistic shots where the couple is a small part of the landscape. Those type of photos can be easily and beautifully captured in this area.
2. Abbot Kinney
This location is great for lifestyle photos. There are plenty of cute coffee shops, restaurants, etc. This area will lend to some more relaxed, fun, and casual images.
3. Venice Beach Boardwalk
This is where you'll get more of that frenetic energy along with funkier shots
4. The Beach
This location is a perfect way to end your session with some gorgeous sunset shots. These shots will be softer, dreamier, and really romantic.
